TDC-DE½M-1918-01

Germany was in dire straits in 1918. They were on the verge of losing World War I, and Kaiser Wilhelm was on the verge of losing his country. But the German mint continued to strike silver half mark coins with the same design used since the country was founded. These 1918 Imperial German 90% Silver Half Marks turned out to be the last ones ever struck. And very soon after, inflation and World War II resulted in most of these half marks being melted.
