TDC-1c-1970D-01

This is a dual event die clash that has been abraded found on a 1970D Lincoln cent. The overlays show the relative position of the dies when they did clash. Since the clash events were offset in position, it is possible that this resulted in a counter clash. However, because of the abrasion of the obverse and reverse dies, evidence of a counter clash has been removed. Also notice the slight rotaion of the dies during the clash events.

This coin is in the collection of Joe Koelling.

The images to the left show the dual clash marks left by the two clash events.
