TDC-1c-1943-02

This 1943 Lincoln cent shows a moderately strong die clash.

This coin is in the collection of Joe Koelling.

Parts of the letters NT form the word CENT can be seen clashed under Lincoln’s chin. The lower leg of the E from ONE can be seen clashed to the left of the 1 digit in the date.

A small portion of the C from CENT can be seen clashed into the nape of Lincoln’s neck.

A portion of the back hair line can bee seen clashed in the field between the C and E of CENT. A die crack from the bottom of the O in ONE will help identify this die clash event.

Another clash mark can be seen through the E of ONE and in the field between the NT of CENT. A retained die chip in the T of CENT is another identifying die marker for this event.
