MDC-1c-1999-01

This 1999 cent features a horizontally and vertically misaligned die clash.  The impression of the edge of the field portion of the die can be seen protruding from the back of Lincoln’s coat.  The curved ridge extends into the body of Lincolns coat as far as his lapel.  A letter trace in the form of an incuse crossbar can be seen just above the ridge.  I suspect it represents the first “T” of STATES.  This coin was first unveiled by G. J. Lawson.
