ADC-1c-2001D-01

Below you will see a nice example of a triple clashed Lincoln on a 2001-D. As is often seen with multiple clash marks, the dies’ alignment migrated, in this case it was NE.

Most memorial bays left at least one impression spanning across the fields and Lincoln’s neck. There is a remnant of the memorial base behind the head and across the ear.

The reverse shows less traces, but you can still see the triple clashing of Lincoln’s coat, back of head, ear and chin to mouth area (which nicely corresponds with the clash marks on the obverse).

Die was found by Alex Tuel.
