ADC-1c-1984-11

Below is an atypical example of clashed die on a 1984 Lincoln Memorial Cent.

This die was submitted by Erik Purkapile

Like some other examples we have illustrated in the past, this example clashed dies example shows the fields of the obverse and reverse where they clanked together showing an altered surface. Those areas are sometimes noticeably shiny, removed are the die flow lines and other surface imperfections (and almost look like they melted slightly).

For attribution purposes, being this is the 11th ADC die we have added, scrutinize clash marks that intersect key points such as the date, face and LIBERTY. Be objective. The clash marks have to be in the exact location, just as deep, or it would be a different die than listed.
