This particular 1960D(SD) Lincoln cent underwent three separate clash events. The first two events occurred before event three, evident from the lack of obverse clash marks from those two events.

The first two events can be seen as a clash mark through the word STATES, a diagonal clash mark from the bottom of E in UNITED down into bay 3 of the Memorial building and another clash mark through the E of ONE and the CE of CENT.

The overlay to the left shows the alignment of dies when the clash mark through the word STATES occurred. The overlay to the right shows the alignment of the dies that created the clash through the words ONE CENT.

The last and latest clash event occurred with a small rotation seen between the dies when they did meet.

The rotation can bee seen in the clash mark left by the right side roof of the Memorial building. The degree of rotation is 4° and is well within the U. S. Mints specifications. The overlay above also shows this slight rotation.
