This is strong, unabraded obverse / reverse die clash that is found on a 1979D Susan B. Anthony dollar coin.

 

This coin is from the collection of Joshua S. Wells

 

The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash.

The image to the left shows the upper tail feather clashed just outside the top of SBA’s nose.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The bottom portion of the eagle’s left wing can be seen clashed from SBA’s loip to the I of IN.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The strongest clash mark on the obverse is formed by the globe and the top of the eagle’s right wing.

 

There is some presence of machine doubling on the obverse of this coion.

SBA’s hair bun and the back of her neck can be seen clashed into the globe down to the head of the eagle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A perfect outline of the from of SBA’s face can be seen clashed into the field just outside of the left side of the eagle.
