This is a typical die clash found on the Standing Liberty quarter. This particular on from Philadelphia, shows only an obverse die clash.

 

The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash


The picture to the left shows the clash mark left by the eagle's tail feathers by the fabric fold to the left of Liberty's right elbow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The picture to the left shows the E from EPU and the M from AMERICA clashed into the bak of Liberty's robe below her right knee.
