MAD Clashes

The Study of Unusual Die Clashes

Site News

8 October, 2010. We are proud to announce that Independent Coin Graders Company (ICG) will now encapsulate die clashes using MADdieclashes.com number system with acronyms.

So, no longer is a die clash just a die clash any more. The more exotic, such as counter clashes (type I & II), MAD die clashes, floating die clashes and such can now be identified and crossreferenced to this site when it is encapsulated by ICG. If it is on our site, ICG will use that number.

This is of course a leap forward for this error type that not only will increase the collectiblity of die clashes, but the value as well.

Again, if you have a strong or unusual die clash and want to see it on this site, lets us know.

April 2011: we have added a Commemorative and Bullion clash section HERE

October 2011: we are adding two new sections to the site. The first one will be a catagorization of Unconventional Die Clashes with its own section HERE. The next section after that will be a listing of the top 25 die clashes and a guide on how to determine value.
