This 1996 Lincoln cent shows a horizontally and vertically misaligned die clash that left a trace emerging from the back of Lincoln's coat.  The top of a curved letter trace is easily visible just above the ridge that marks the impression of the edge of the field portion of the die.  This probably represents the first S of STATES. Discovered by Richard Imburgia.
