This 1999 cent features a horizontally and vertically misaligned
die clash. The impression of the edge of the field portion of the die can
be seen protruding from the back of Lincoln's coat. The curved ridge
extends into the body of Lincolns coat as far as his lapel. A letter
trace in the form of an incuse crossbar can be seen just above the
ridge. I suspect it represents the first "T" of STATES.
