This is an exceptionally strong die clash found on a 1965 Lincoln cent. There is the familiar 5° rotation seen on the clash, but not on the strike.
The overlay shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash.
While there is some abrasion marks (die scratches) on both the obverse and reverse, I feel that these marks are not the result of trying to abrade the present clash for the coin. It is also surprising that the dies were not further damaged when they did clash. Due to the severity of the clash, I do imagine that both dies were retired after the coin press was shut down by the operator.
